San Francisco International Gift Show: iBean with the interns.

February 24th, 2010

spreading the love

A few weeks ago iBeanInspired and crew were at the San Francisco International Gift Show. Spreading the love in San Fran we were. We thought this would be a great experience for iBean and it turned out to be such. Along with iBean came Jonathon, Salenta and two interns, Tyler and Tina. As it turns out it would be a more than just a learning experience for iBean, but for the interns also, as there were many new things to experience.
First day in San Francisco and straight to the beach. “I had never seen the Pacific Ocean before,” said Tyler, “The sound of the ocean stood out to me… Every time a wave would crash you could feel the power of it.” For a rural Utah boy the size and diversity of San Francisco was surprising as well, even after the so called city life of Salt Lake City. Even after eating some bizarre ethnic foods that we still aren’t sure what it was, it was a great experience.

Navigation was a struggle coming from grid based Utah, trying to find your way around in a city where all the streets have names instead of numbers, none of which are straight was challenging. Finding ourselves lost in Little Italy, and then all of a sudden in the middle of Chinatown was exciting.
iBean saw a little bit of everything while in San Francisco, but the main reason we were there was the gift show. What better way to get the word out and share the iBean love than marketing to thousands of people. Have you seen the list of vendors?
There is a strong energy behind iBean, and that is what we were there to share. We made a few sales, but I think we learned a lot as a small company and as interns. “I learned how to talk to customers and make wholesale orders,” says Tina. “I was the first one to make a sale that first day!”

We had a good time, made some sales, got our name out there, and made some good contacts; I think the trip to the San Francisco International Gift Show was productive and well worth the effort. That is our purpose at iBean, to spread the love. We are inspiring the world one bean at a time.
